FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
HOW LONG DOES A COUNSELLING SESSION TAKE?
Sessions are usually 50-60 minutes in duration and we do try to keep to time.
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE FIRST SESSION?
At your initial session, you may be asked to fill out some paperwork. Through this session we explore your expectations of what you would like to achieve and work on understanding the issues that have brought you to counselling. We also begin constructing a plan of how these issues can be addressed.
HOW MUCH DOES A SESSION COST?
I believe in making psychology services accessible. As such, the standard cost of a session is well below the rates recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) of $267. If you are eligible for a Mental Health Care Plan, a referral from your GP will allow for access to a rebate from Medicare.
However I do understand that financial situations and competing costs can make affording appointments difficult, so please get in touch if you would like to discuss accessing a reduced rate.
